Emily joined the Board of Trustees in September 2026, bringing nine years of experience in health and safety, including four years working within the social housing sector.
Currently working as a Health and Safety Lead for a West Yorkshire housing association, Emily provides support across the business, which covers anything from large construction projects to community events. She also holds a master’s degree in health psychology, with a particular focus on behaviour change within the construction industry.
Emily has a personal connection to Barnsley Hospice, having experienced its care when her mum received end-of-life support in 2021. Since then, she has been passionate about giving back to the charity, including running the London Marathon in 2023 in memory of her mum.
Becoming a Trustee offers Emily another opportunity to support the hospice, combining her professional experience with her understanding of hospice care from a family’s perspective.
Outside of work, Emily enjoys staying active, going to the gym, walking and baking. She also rescued a puppy in summer 2026, who, according to a DNA test, is a mixture of 19 different breeds and keeps her very busy!
