Martin became a Trustee with Barnsley Hospice in December 2025.
Following a long career in Banking, he has been Chief Operating Officer for StepChange Debt Charity since September 2024. His career has given him the opportunity to gain experience in strategic planning and execution, large scale business transformation and leadership as well as, risk management, governance and assurance in both corporate and charity sectors.
Born and bred in South Yorkshire, Martin says: “I feel incredibly proud and privileged to have the opportunity to give something back to such an incredible local organisation. Having had first-hand experience of the amazing work done in the palliative care sector, I know what a difference Barnsley Hospice makes to people and families in the local community.”
In his spare time, Martin is a passionate follower of Yorkshire and England cricket, loves to spend time outdoors walking in the Peak District as well as enjoying live music and theatre.
