Help your donations go further and make an even bigger difference to Barnsley Hospice.
There are two types of Gift Aid:

Gift Aid on Cash Donations
We can claim 25% extra of the value of your eligible cash donations. You can sign up online or post a completed form to us.

Retail Gift Aid on Donated Goods
We can claim 25p on each pound we make when we sell your goods. You can sign up online or when dropping off donations at our Retail Hub.
What is Gift Aid?
Gift Aid is a Government scheme that allows charities like Barnsley Hospice to claim tax relief on the donations you make. With Gift Aid, we could claim an extra 25p for every £1 you donate.
Your donations mean so much to us, and by using Gift Aid, you’ll help make an even bigger impact on the services and care we provide.
Gift Aid on Cash Donations
All UK taxpayers qualify for Gift Aid
Signing up to Gift Aid does not cost you anything. You will not pay extra on any donations Barnsley Hospice claims Gift Aid on as long as you pay Income Tax or Capital Gains Tax at a rate at least equal to the amount of Gift Aid claimed on your donations in that tax year. Otherwise, it’s your responsibility to pay the difference.
Self-assessment taxpayers also qualify for Gift Aid
Keep records of your donations as you’ll need to report these on your tax return. If you would like a receipt to show how much Gift Aid has been claimed on your donations, please email fundraising@barnsley-hospice.org.
You can apply Gift Aid to past donations
When you sign up, we can add Gift Aid to the past 4 years of your donations to Barnsley Hospice. We’ll continue to add Gift Aid to any future donations, unless you ask us not to.
How to sign up
You can sign up online using the declaration form below. If you prefer not to sign up online, you can call us on 01226 244 244 or email fundraising@barnsley-hospice.org and we can send you a form to complete and return via post.
Retail Gift Aid on Donated Goods
We can claim Gift Aid on goods you donate to our Retail Hub
When you donate to our Retail Hub, speak to a member of our team at our donation drop-off point, who will help you sign up. Alternatively, you can complete our online Gift Aid Declaration and Agency Agreement, or print a copy of the form to complete ahead of your next donation.
Once you have signed up, simply complete a sticker with your name, house number and postcode at our Retail Hub drop-off point when making future donations.
Or to save more time when dropping off donations, print our Retail Gift Aid labels at home and attach them to each bag of donations.
Donations must still be dropped off during our opening hours (Monday-Saturday, 9 am – 4 pm), and should not be left outside the Retail Hub as they may be damaged and need to be thrown away. Be aware of leaving bags with completed stickers in public, as these personal details could be vulnerable to identity thieves.

You can opt out of marketing when you sign up for Gift Aid
We’ll give you the choice to opt into marketing when you sign up for Gift Aid or Retail Gift Aid. If you choose to opt out, we’ll respect your choice.
We will notify you of the value of Gift Aid for all your goods sold at the end of the financial year. If we raise over £100 in Gift Aid donations from your donations, we will notify you sooner. In this instance, we will ask for your permission to keep the reclaimed Gift Aid in that financial year.
