Snowdon Sunset Trek

  • Date: Saturday 15 June 2024
  • Meeting point: Snowdon Railway Station, Llanberis
  • Registration and sponsorship: Registration fee is £25 and minimum sponsorship is £200

Take part in a once in a lifetime challenge and experience the beauty of Snowdon at sunset, whilst supporting us to deliver specialist care for the people of Barnsley.

Climb all 1,085 metres and experience the stunning colour changes as the sun sets over Snowdonia National Park – a view you’re certainly not likely to forget. Starting your trek in the late afternoon not only allows you to catch the sunset, but you’ll also come down the mountain at a much quieter time, underneath the star-filled sky!

If you are looking for the perfect opportunity to step out of your comfort zone to achieve a personal goal AND make a real difference to the hospice – this could be the perfect fundraiser for you.

Whether you do it alone or with a group of friends and family, you will join fellow Barnsley Hospice supporters and work together to reach the finish line.

Our 2024 Snowdon Sunset Trek will take place on Saturday 15 June.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much do I need to raise?

To take part, you must pay a £25 registration fee to secure your place. Then, it’s the bit that makes a difference! You must raise a minimum of £200 sponsorship, which covers the cost of your place on the trek, as well as helping us to continue providing specialist care for the people of Barnsley. The more you can raise the better, and every penny raised will have an impact.

Can I do it in a team?

Absolutely, you can take on the challenge with your friends or family. Please register and pay your registration fees individually so we can confirm numbers and ensure you all have a place.

Even if you’re not doing the trek as a group, you’ll be joined by other Barnsley Hospice supporters helping to make a difference like you!

How do I raise the sponsorship?

This part is up to you! You can download one of our sponsorship forms if you’d like to collect it in person. Alternatively, our team can help you set up a JustGiving page connected to the hospice which can be shared via text and social media.

Don’t forget that our Fundraising team is on hand to support you and provide tips for raising as much sponsorship as possible!

What do I need to take?

We will provide you with a kit list from the tour operator once your space is confirmed. However, as a basis -you will need some good quality walking boots and weather-appropriate clothing. It’s also important to consider keeping your energy up with snacks and enough fluid to keep you hydrated.
