We need to raise £200,000 to upgrade our inpatient rooms, and we need your help.
This planned project will see our 10 en-suite, patient bedrooms completely transformed to help our patients and those close to them feel more comfortable and relaxed during their stay. Specifically, the improvements will include new specialist beds, integral hoists, air conditioning and piped oxygen which will allow our nurses to give the best possible standards of patient care. New en-suite wet rooms, furniture, flooring and décor will create a peaceful, homely environment for our patients and their families.
We are really excited that the Morrisons Foundation, the charitable arm of the Bradford-based supermarket chain, has already pledged £300,000 towards the project and we are now asking our own 'crowd' of Barnsley people for help to raise the further £200,000 needed.

Malcolm Eastwood, 69, lives in Oxspring and is backing the Comfort and Care campaign. Earlier this year he spent ten nights with us, staying in the inpatient unit for treatment to help control the pain caused by his Multiple Sclerosis.
Malcolm said: “I always assumed that hospices were a place people stayed right at the end of their lives, but I’ve now realised how wrong I was.
“I was put at ease as soon as I walked in, and reassured by everyone I spoke to. Anything I needed, I was given – no matter what time of day it was. I wasn’t just a number, I felt like I was amongst friends.
“Like many people, I used to have misconceptions about hospice care - but I know now that they are here for me and my family whenever we may need them. Barnsley Hospice has transformed my life, which is why I’m supporting this appeal.”
