BARNSLEY HOSPICE COUNSELLING SERVICES

Open for referrals

The counselling service has been operating throughout the pandemic, providing professional psychological support to patients and / or their families over the phone.
Following a full risk assessment, from October 2020 we will be re-introducing face-to-face counselling appointments, delivered at the hospice, for those who wish to be supported in this way. Telephone appointments will still be available.

We accept referrals for patients and / or their families who are under the care of Specialist Palliative Care services (community or hospital) and have a Barnsley GP.

Our bereavement counselling and support service provides support to people experiencing grief after someone dies from a life-limiting progressive illness. The sessions operate in a similar way to our other counselling sessions, but families can self-refer to this service.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have extended our bereavement counselling and support services to help the families of anyone in Barnsley who has died following a life-limiting progressive illness and is known to the hospice or the specialist palliative care services in Barnsley.

Please note this criteria will be reviewed in April 2021

For more information or to discuss a referral, please contact Janice on 01226 244 244
