The Sheffield Half Marathon is one of the major highlights of the UK’s running calendar and remains South Yorkshire’s biggest event of its kind. Thousands of runners of all abilities take part each year, all fundraising for a wide range of charities.
With a city centre start and finish, participants are cheered on by supporters along the route. The 2026 route offers a spectacular challenge, featuring a climb to Ringinglow with views across the Peak District.
The race also includes a unique ‘triple test’, giving runners the chance to compete for the Peaks Challenge titles: a timed hill climb, a timed 10K downhill sprint and the overall half marathon crown.
It’s an extremely popular fundraising event and a fantastic opportunity to support Barnsley Hospice.
