After the success of our Hospice Walk last year, we’re excited to welcome supporters back in June 2026 for our newly named Hospice Hike. Formerly known as the Hospice Walk, we’ve changed the event name following your feedback in 2025.
Our 2026 Hospice Hike offers three routes to choose from: 8 miles, 12 miles or the full 20 miles. The route once again follows a figure-of-eight, with both loops starting and finishing at Barnsley Hospice.
- Loop 1 – will take you through Bretton, High Hoyland and Cawthorne, offering beautiful countryside views.
- Loop 2 – will head towards Silkstone and incorporate stretches of the Trans Pennine Trail.
Whether you’re taking on the full challenge or opting for one of the shorter routes, every mile you walk helps raise vital funds to support the specialist palliative and end of life care we provide for people and families across Barnsley.
We’ll share detailed route maps with supporters nearer the time – but for now, lace up your boots and get ready for a fantastic day of walking, community and support!
