- Refreshments along the course at ‘feed stations’
- Hospice Hero medal to mark your amazing achievement
- Support and guidance from our fundraising team on preparing for the event and raising your sponsorship
Mike in our fundraising team will be your main point of contact for this event and will be on hand to answer any questions or queries you have about the event or raising sponsorship.
Hello, I’m Mike. I’ll be the lead fundraiser for this year’s Yorkshireman Half Marathon. I love trail running, spending time in the mountains and helping our supporters to fundraise and prepare for our adventurous events. I’ll be on hand to answer any questions and share advice ahead of your event. If you have any queries leading up to the big day, get in touch with me or the fundraising team and we’ll be happy to help.
Please note that the Yorkshireman Off Road Half Marathon event is a tough race, making it the perfect challenge for those who have a good level of fitness. You must be prepared to undertake the necessary training beforehand.
If you have a pre-existing medical condition which could affect you during the challenge, please consider the difficulty and seek medical advice before registering. If you have any further questions about the challenge, please get in touch with our fundraising team before signing up.
Please ensure you read and agree to the Yorkshireman Off Road Half Marathon Event Disclaimer/Terms and Conditions before signing up.
How can I get involved?
If you’d like to take on the Yorkshireman Off Road Half Marathon in support of Barnsley Hospice, please fill in the form below with your details. This form will also allow you to pay your £5 registration fee.
This challenge can also be completed by corporate groups. If your workplace and colleagues would like to take on the Yorkshireman Off Road Half Marathon in 2024, get in touch with the fundraising team and we can help secure your team’s spots.
As this event is organised by a third party, we can’t monitor how many spaces are left on each course and in previous years spaces have been filled as early as March. Because of this, we’d recommend signing up as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
You must be 18 or over to register for a place in this event.
Challenge yourself for Barnsley Hospice!

Frequently Asked Questions
How much do I need to raise?
Along with the £5 registration fee, all those taking part must raise a minimum of £100 in sponsorship. Part of this sponsorship will cover the cost of your entry in the race, the remainder and any more you can raise will go towards supporting the hospice and allowing us to continue providing specialist palliative care to the people of Barnsley.
Is travel to the course provided?
We are unable to arrange transport for runners to the course, all those taking part will need to make their own arrangements to and from the start/finish line.
What time does the race start?
The half marathon will commence at 10:30 am.
Can I use poles along the course?
The organisers do allow people to use poles, however, they ask that participants be cautious when moving through stiles and gates and be wary of runners around them to avoid injuries.
