Care for a Cuppa

As part of Carers Week 2025 (Monday 9 – Sunday 15 June), Barnsley Hospice is inviting unpaid carers of someone with a progressive, life limiting illness to a coffee and cake event, ‘Care for a Cuppa’ on Thursday 12 June.

Held at the hospice’s wellbeing centre, The Orangery, this free event will provide a chance for unpaid carers to enjoy a relaxing brew and have an informal chat with other likeminded individuals of similar experiences.

There will also be a chance to meet with the hospice staff and answer any questions people may have regarding our services.

Carers Week 2025 is an annual event where we can highlight the vital role carers play in our society and in the Barnsley community in particular, and draw attention to how important caring is.

You can register your interest for the event by emailing rebecca.lambert@barnsley-hospice.org or diane.gledhill-cragg@barnsley-hospice.org

Do I need to book?

Whilst pre-booking isn’t strictly necessary, we would welcome you to register your interest by contacting us on one of the email addresses above so the team at the hospice have an idea on what numbers to expect.

How much does this event cost?

This is a FREE event! The idea of this event is to shine a light on the amazing work of unpaid carers and offer a safe and welcoming environment to carers, with the chance to meet likeminded people and the team of professionals at the hospice who can provide advice and signpost to support. Of course, events like this are only possible because of the generosity of the Barnsley public, so we would gratefully accept any contributions, no matter how small.
