How do I run for Barnsley Hospice?

As the event’s official charitable partner, we have been donated 50 free places for those who want to run in support of Barnsley Hospice. If you are successful in grabbing one of the 50 charity places, you are committing to raising a minimum of £100 sponsorship for the hospice.

These places are limited and we expect them to fill up fast, so we recommend signing up as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. This also maximises your time for training and collecting as much sponsorship for the hospice as possible!

If you miss out on one of the free charity places, you can still take part in the 10K in support of Barnsley Hospice by registering for a paid entry through Barnsley Council.

To register for a free entry space in support of Barnsley Hospice, please fill out the form below (entries open at 5 pm on Friday 23 February) with your details. Please note, by registering for a free entry you are committing to raising a minimum of £100 of sponsorship for Barnsley Hospice.

Entries for the free charity places AND paid entries are open until 7 pm on 16 June or when all entries have been filled. There’ll be no entries available on the day of the race.

For more information about the event and full FAQs, please visit the Barnsley 10k webpage: https://www.barnsley.gov.uk/services/events/barnsley-10k/

By signing up for one of the free charity places, you are agreeing to raise a minimum sponsorship of £100. Any recipient of a free charity entry who does not fundraise for Barnsley Hospice must pay the full entry fee to the event organiser.

Those under the age of 18 wishing to take part are required to have permission to participate from someone over the age of 18. The minimum age to participate is 15 years old on the event day. If you are aged 15-17, please confirm your permission from someone over the age of 18 by emailing fundraising@barnsley-hospice.org, otherwise, you will risk your entry being null and void.

Places may be transferred to another runner up until Sunday 9 June 2024. To do this, please contact the Barnsley Hospice Fundraising team at fundraising@barnsley-hospice.org.
