Barnsley Hospice is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Legacy Fundraiser to join our team. In this vital role, you’ll help grow and sustain our legacy giving programme – ensuring that future generations can access specialist care through gifts left in Wills.
What You’ll Do
- Promote legacy giving through engaging campaigns, events, and supporter communications.
- Build and nurture relationships with solicitors, will-writers, and professional partners.
- Provide sensitive and professional stewardship to legacy supporters.
- Deliver presentations and information sessions to community groups.
- Support the administration and accurate recording of legacy pledges and income.
- Collaborate with fundraising and communications teams to maximise impact.
Your work will help create a lasting legacy of care and compassion for our community.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Is compassionate, confident, and an excellent communicator.
- Can discuss sensitive topics with empathy and respect.
- Has experience in fundraising, relationship management, or supporter engagement.
- Is organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities.

About us
Barnsley Hospice is a charity that provides specialist palliative and end of life care to hundreds of local people and those close to them each year. Our main priority is to achieve the best possible quality of life for people living with a life-limiting illness, whilst supporting those close to them during the period of illness and bereavement. As a specialist care provider, the range of skills we offer include, pain and symptom management, emotional support and end of life care. The hospice currently employs about 100 people and has a team of volunteers, based both at the hospice and within our Retail Hub.
