Barnsley Hospice is looking for a passionate and organised Event Fundraiser to join our friendly team. In this exciting role, you’ll be the driving force behind a vibrant calendar of fundraising events that raise vital funds for the hospice.
From our much-loved Treecycle and Light up a Life to our Annual Golf Day and brand-new creative ideas you bring to life, you’ll lead every step of planning and delivery.
You’ll manage venues, logistics and safety, create unforgettable supporter experiences, and work closely with Marketing and our Volunteer Coordinator to promote events and build enthusiastic volunteer teams.
With your energy and innovation, you’ll help our events reach more people, raise more income, and make a meaningful impact in our local community. This is your chance to create events that truly make a difference.
You’ll work closely with volunteers, supporters, colleagues and local businesses to make every event special. From the first idea to the final thank-you, you will help create experiences that raise vital funds and bring our community together.


We’re looking for someone who:
- Is enthusiastic, organised, and full of ideas
- Enjoys working with people and building relationships
- Can manage logistics, budgets and timelines
- Wants to make a genuine difference to local families
- Isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves during busy event days!

About us
Barnsley Hospice is a charity that provides specialist palliative and end of life care to hundreds of local people and those close to them each year. Our main priority is to achieve the best possible quality of life for people living with a life-limiting illness, whilst supporting those close to them during the period of illness and bereavement. As a specialist care provider, the range of skills we offer include, pain and symptom management, emotional support and end of life care. The hospice currently employs about 100 people and has a team of volunteers, based both at the hospice and within our retail hub.
