We are excited to announce our new café is open to the public!
Based at Mapplewell and Staincross Village Hall on Darton Lane, the café offers an affordable menu of freshly-cooked food, hot and cold drinks, sandwiches and snacks.
Sitting right in the heart of the local community, the new café has undergone a full refurbishment and will be led by the hospice’s award-winning catering team.
Barnsley Hospice’s Head of Business Development, Julia Bowness, said: “This is a really exciting new opportunity for us at Barnsley Hospice and we can’t wait to open our doors to the public.
“We would like to thank everybody at Mapplewell and Staincross Village Hall for their support and encouragement as we undertake this exciting new venture. This has only been possible because of the excellent work of our award-winning catering team who have ensured that the high standards we already work towards at the hospice will be extended into our new café.
“The Barnsley Hospice Café will be more than just a place that people can enjoy delicious food and drink. It will be a warm, welcoming environment where the public know that through every bite or sip they take, they will be supporting the vital care we deliver in the community.
“We are always looking at new ways if increasing our revenue as roughly two-thirds of our operational costs are raised by the public. Our new café will not only be a vital source of income to fund our services, but also an important part of the community where people can socialise and learn more about what we do as a hospice.”
