A company and its staff in Barnsley are celebrating their achievement of reaching £100,000 in fundraising for Barnsley Hospice.
Since 2009, Perrigo and its staff have supported the hospice with a variety of creative and thoughtful fundraising activities, from their first donation in lieu of Christmas cards to quizzes and donating £15,000 to the hospice’s ‘Comfort and Care’ campaign back in 2018.
Perrigo, based at Elmhirst Park in Barnsley, reached their milestone figure of £100,000 as staff participated in a ‘100,000 steps challenge’ from September 1 to 10.
The company’s self-named team ‘Perrigo Charity Crew’ celebrated with a glow in the dark Zumba party as the grand total of fundraising was revealed to its staff members.
Ella Beale, Head of Fundraising and Marketing at Barnsley Hospice, said: “We are so grateful to Perrigo and all of their staff and supporters for their continued fundraising for the hospice. To reach £100,000 is a remarkable achievement and they should all be extremely proud to have raised such an incredible amount, which has gone a long way in providing specialist care to the people of Barnsley and their loved ones. A hundred thousand pounds is equivalent to around 150 days of care for a patient at the hospice, which is amazing. Support from local companies like Perrigo is vital to ensure that we can continue being there for the people of Barnsley. We thank them all from the bottom of our hearts.”
