Hospice receives £1,000 donation

Recently, we were delighted to receive a £1,000 donation from Yorkshire Building Society’s Charitable Foundation – thanks to a nomination from a local branch employee, San Chan. The donation was used primarily to purchase sheets to be used on our Inpatient Unit, with a small amount spent on scrubs too.

Barnsley Hospice Associate Chief Nurse, Julie Challenger said: “We are thankful for the recent donation from Yorkshire Building Society’s Charitable Foundation, which has enabled us to purchase specialist sheets for each bed on our IPU. The fitted sheets the donation has funded are specially designed to help with temperature regulation. The high-quality bed cover is lined with satin, which means we can move patients comfortably without using a slide sheet. These additions will make a great difference to our patients, so thank you once again.”

Lloyd Latibeaudiere, Trustee of Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation, said: “We are pleased to be able to support Barnsley Hospice with this donation from Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation. The work that they are doing to support patients and families across Barnsley is providing a real benefit to their lives.”

Our thanks go to San Chan for nominating the hospice, and to everyone at Yorkshire Building Society’s Charitable Foundation for making this donation possible.
