Barnsley Bubble Rush build-up begins

The Barnsley Bubble Rush, our biggest fundraising event of the year, returns to Locke Park on July 22 and ‘early bird’ tickets are now on sale.

Last year’s inaugural event saw almost 1400 people tackle the 5km bubble-filled fun run, raising over £30,000 in sponsorship.

Entry is now available at a cost of £15 per adult and £10 per child, before prices rise in April. Family tickets are also available.

‘Bubblers’ are given white t-shirts to be turned multi-coloured by the bubbles, and medals are awarded to all finishers. Fancy dress is encouraged.

Sam Silverwood, our Fundraising Manager, said: “Last year was the first time a Bubble Rush had been held in Barnsley and we were overwhelmed with how many people took part and how much money was raised. We’re now inviting people to sign up early for 2018 to save themselves money and give themselves a goal – especially if getting fit was a New Year resolution.”

The entry price helps cover the cost of running the event but participants are asked to raise as much as they can in sponsorship to help the hospice care for patients and their families.

Sam added: “The Bubble Rush is now our biggest fundraiser and best of all, it’s fantastic fun. We’re aiming for this year’s event to be even bigger and better than 2017 and we’re looking forward to welcoming families from Barnsley and beyond.”
