Rudolph Run!

Calling all schools and groups – join in our festive fundraising frolics

Barnsley Hospice Rudolph Runs will again take place at schools and children’s groups across the borough this December, and we would love for YOU to get involved.

Your Rudolph Run (or prance!) is a sponsored run or walk, that can be completed on any date throughout the festive period.

Each child taking part will receive a pair of antlers and their very own red nose. One lucky adult will also be provided with a Santa suit! We can deliver these to your school or group free of charge, at your convenience.

Last year, children from 16 Barnsley schools and nurseries, and one football team, raised an amazing £20,000 and lots of smiles as on their Rudolph Runs! This year’s we’d like even more to get involved.

We understand the difficulties the past 18 months have presented schools and groups.

So, we really hope the chance to get outside and have a good old run around the playground or a walk in your community – all dressed as Santa’s favourite reindeer – will provide the perfect opportunity to create some festive cheer, whilst helping to raise much-needed funds for the hospice.

As an added bonus, your school or community group can also choose to split the funds you raise equally between the hospice and your own school or group’s cause. That’s fine. Simply let us know when you sign up.

If you would like to organise a Rudolph Run, please email

Tell us in your email:

  • The name of your school/community group
  • The number of children that will be taking part
  • The date you are planning to hold your Rudolph Run

We hope that you will consider taking part in this fun festive initiative and support us in raising funds for our hospice.

It is greatly appreciated and helps us to provide specialist compassionate care for our patients and their loved ones. And don’t forget to share your photos via our social media!

Everyone can make a donation to support all the children taking part in our Rudolph Run campaign across Barnsley via our Just Giving page here.

This event is kindly sponsored by White’s Bakery, a proud supporter of the hospice and maker of yummy snacks for schools!
