Pall Call is an out-of-hours telephone helpline, led by nurses, which offers advice and information for patients with active, progressive and life limiting illnesses and their carers.
Through Pall Call, you’ll be able to speak to a nurse with experience in specialist palliative care, who can support and advise you on issues ranging from pain control, symptom management, syringe driver guidelines, nausea and vomiting, agitation or restlessness and other physical or practical problems.
Please be aware that we can’t send out nurses or doctors from the Hospice though if urgent attention is needed, we advise that you contact the on-call NHS doctor or district nurse or in the case of an emergency dial 999.
What if I have a MacMillan Palliative Care CNS?
If you have a MacMillan Palliative Care CNS, then they should always be your first contact. Your Community Specialist Palliative Care Team will be working seven days a week, 9am-5pm. We offer Pall Call as an out-of-hours service to help, advise and support you when these professionals are not available.
