BARNSLEY HOSPICE SHOPS IN URGENT NEED
Barnsley Hospice is a well respected provider of specialist palliative care and each year provides expert care and support to over 250 patients. Although the hospice receives generous support from NHS Barnsley, there is still a need to raise significant sums of money to carry on delivering services. Recently, the Barnsley Hospice shops have experienced a fall in donated goods.
Dawn Charlesworth, Retail Services Manager for Barnsley Hospice said:
“Due to the amazing support of the people of Barnsley, the Barnsley Hospice Shops have had a fantastic year for sales, raising over £260,000 for the Hospice in the last year. The knock on effect of this is that we have a greater need to get more stock into our shops. We are urging everyone to ‘clear out your clutter’ and donate it to Barnsley Hospice so that we can sell it in one of our eight shops. We urgently need good quality donations of clothing, bric-a-brac, china, unwanted gifts, household linen and goods, etc.”
Donating to Barnsley Hospice shops ensures that the profits from the sale of your donated goods only go to Barnsley Hospice, to help Barnsley people. If you have good quality, unwanted goods and want to support us, the best thing you can do is donate them directly to a Barnsley Hospice shop. Donations can be left at any of the shops, between 9.00 am – 4.00 pm, Monday – Saturday. Outside of those times donations can be left in the shed at the rear of Hospice, alternatively if there are several bags, collections can be arranged by telephoning Barnsley Hospice reception on 01226 244244 during office hours.”
