Charity of the Year

Choose Barnsley Hospice as your next Charity of the Year and organise a number of events to support us.  We can help with ideas!  For example, Matalan chose Barnsley Hospice to be the beneficiary of funds raised in store throughout the year and organised a number of raffles, collections and fashion shows.

Employee Fundraising

Many of your employees may want to help a local charity and Barnsley Hospice is one that justifiability generates passionate support.  By organising social events employees can have fun and raise money together for a common goal.  A recent example of employee fundraising is the Corporate Soccer Sixes Tournament.

Employees can also take part in some of the sponsored events we organise such as the Midnight Walk or Hospice Hobble.  All corporate participants have not only helped to raise vital funds for the Hospice but have encouraged team building amongst their colleagues.

You can further encourage your employees to contribute to their local charity by offering “Matched Giving” as an incentive and in recognition of their contribution.

Company Fundraising Team

To support Barnsley Hospice you can set up a fundraising team to plan, promote and organise your own company events.  This can be a fulfilling way for staff to work with colleagues, raising money for the Hospice whilst demonstrating valuable team building skills.  We can help in the initial stages and with publicity and promotion.  For example, Tesco fundraised for the Hospice and in less than a year raised over £8,000.

Employee Involvement

Many companies are recognising that they can contribute to their local community by giving employees time off to volunteer on a short or long term basis.  This can help employees in their personal development, as it gives them the opportunity to share their expertise with a charity close to their heart and in return help them develop new skills.  We have a dedicated Volunteer Services Manager who would be pleased to hear from any company considering this method of support.

Payroll Giving

This is a simple and effective way for companies to show their commitment to the local community and support Barnsley Hospice.  By setting up a payroll giving scheme and allowing staff to contribute through their monthly salary, you are enabling them to give in an easy, tax-efficient way.  If you already have a scheme in place, why not include Barnsley Hospice as one of the charities.
